Hey ! I’m Katie Murphy, I’m 15 years old & a Freshmen at Hillgrove High School. I curently live in Powder Springs, Georgia. Which is about 45 minutes outside of Atlanta. I moved here from Long Island when I was 4. I play soccer & I’m apart of Art Club & Freshmen Advisory. I here some of you guys live in really small towns, I can’t imagine that! Even though I do live in Georgia, it’s not all country people. Haha, my school alone has about 2,000 people and my graduating class is about 600.
My walk with God started at an early age but I didn’t really fully understand what it meant to be a Christian til I got into High School. Last year I went on my first missions trip to Guatemala! It was AMAZING. There seriously aren’t enough words to describe how it affected my life and how I became a better person from it.
When I was there I met this awesome person, her name is Ashley Williams (that’s her ^). She was a real inspiration hearing her testimony and her walk with God. She now lives in the Ghetto of Guatemala & works at Hannah’s Hope Orphange, (which is now Dorie’s Promise). Her life is full of missions. She told me about when she was 15 she went to Romania for the summer through Adventures in Missions. & knowing me the day we got back I checked out there webiste (: haha. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to go to Africa. So natuarlly, I picked Uganda. Alot of things and oppurtunities are presenting itself & it just makes me more sure that this is what God has called me to do.
I seriously can’t wait to meet you guys ! I’m SO excited for this summer it’s not even funny ! I know that all our lives will be changed & I can’t wait to see what happens and how God uses all of us out there (:
