My name is Rachel Shaffer and I do realize I’m late on this whole blog train and I do apologize, graduating from college and moving have been taking up a lot of time. But I’m finally getting settled in and am so ready and excited to get to know all of you!!! I will be one of your leaders this summer and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in Uganda.

Well heres a little bit about me- I just graduated from UNF in Jacksonville Florida and I currently live back at home with my parents in Tallahassee FL. I have a twin sister Jessica and I have a boyfriend Jacob and a dog named Lola. She is by far the cutest and I am obsessed with her! ha!
This trip will be my third time to Africa but my first time to Uganda.  My first trip to Africa was back in 2007 and I went to Malawi and then I went to Swaziland with AIM in 2008 on a Real life trip. Believe it or not I am not one of those people who has always dreamed of going to Africa, my heart has not always been about Africa but God has certainly done a work in changing my heart these past few years during college.
I know we don’t know each other all that well yet but I would love to know how I and the other leaders can be praying for you as we all prepare for this journey to Uganda. I know I could use prayer on just remembering to put God first in my day. Without the routine of school, moving, and vacation it has gotten hard to do that recently.  I know God has so many things he wants to reveal to each of us and I will continue to pray that we all will just take the time to hear from him and see how he is preparing us each uniquely for his purpose for us on this trip.
Well thats just a little bit about me, I look forward to hearing from you all 🙂
