Cera Allen bio!
Hey everyone!
My name is Cera(pronounced Sarah, yes my parents had to be difficult and make the spelling of my name weird) Allen and I am 15 years old. I’m from a small town in North Carolina, which I love. I am definitely not a shy person, and you will quickly find out I love talking and have one of those crazy, infectious laughs. I don’t have one of those awesome testimony’s where I was in a hole and God pulled me out, but to me just hearing a way that God works in someones life is an awesome testimony in itself. I have grown up in a Christian home, but I always just went through the motions. I really loved God, but I never had a real relationship with him until I went on a mission trip to Mexico with my youth group this past summer. To see the way God works in someones life is the most beautiful thing in the world, and I can’t wait to see what God will do in mine this summer. I was originally signed up to go on the AIM trip to Australia, but because there wasn’t enough interest in the trip AIM had to cancel. At that point I really felt that God was leading me to Australia, but when God shut that door I knew I just had to have faith to see what new door he would open. In the beginning I was really distressed because I was so sure Australia was the trip for me, and I was lost not knowing what God wanted me to do. One evening I was on a long car ride and it just hit me that Uganda was where I was supposed to be. Even before I chose Australia I had looked into the Uganda trip but I was really nervous about going to Africa. On that car ride a peace washed over me and I was no longer nervous, but excited. I couldn’t believe that it had taken me so long to realize God was leading me to Uganda, because it now seemed so clear. I think that God has been preparing me for this trip ever since I was in 6th grade. In 6th grade I was introduced to the Invisible Children movement, which is an organization that helps Ugandan children because of the war going on in Uganda. When I first learned about the war and the IC organization, I immediately had a love for this country. Since then I’ve done many research papers, and even done this rally with the IC organization, and have learned so much about Uganda. I have wanted to go since I was in 6th grade, but it always seemed like an unattainable dream so I never actually thought about going. Now that I have actually thought about it I feel that God has been preparing me for this trip for four, almost five years. I am so excited, and ready to see what journey God is going to take all of us on in Uganda, it is going to be amazing! I can’t wait to meet all of you guys too! I have a facebook, it’s Cera Allen and I’m pretty sure mine pops up first when you type my name in. My picture is black and white and I have curly hair; feel free to add me, so we can chat(:
