My Unity Prayer

Lord,

This team is your creation.  This team is your team.  You have brought each of us together onto this team and into this mission trip to Uganda for a reason.  We all have something to add, we all have something to do. 

Lord, bring us together as a team.  Bind us and make us as one person, as one of your arms, reaching out to the lost in Uganda, ministering to the orphans and anyone else who you tell us to talk to.  Help us to be united. 

We can’t do anything without your assistance.  We will only stumble and fall on our own.  On our own, we will only go the wrong way.  We need Your help.  Please make us united as a team to do Your work and to follow Your will.  Please help us to listen to Your voice. 

I pray that you would bring each of our VBS teams very close to each other as well.  We need to be working in unison.  We need to be moving as one. 

I also pray for our team as a whole.  Please help us to be selfless and to put the other members of our team before ourselves.  Help us to serve one another as Christ served His disciples. 
Help us all to focus on You throughout the entire trip.  Don’t let us get sidetracked.  Prepare us for the trip ahead.

Thank you for Your love for us.  Thank you that you were willing to die on the cross for us.  Thank you that you were willing to leave the glory of Heaven and come to this disgusting place we call our world and live with us for thirty-some years, and be willing to die a criminal’s death all for us.  Thank you that you considered us that valuable. 

Help us to truly understand how valuable we really are to you, how valuable every orphan in Uganda is to you.  Please.
